I nipped off to the USA to have a run round and learn the track in Alabama, at Barber Motorsports Park. They have a large classic festival there in October each year, and it’s certainly on my bucket list. So I thought I’d best have a run out, to check whether it’s ‘left or right’ at the end of the pitlane.

Barber is a most beautiful track, and the museum boasts of ‘being the biggest motorcycle museum in the world’ – and it certainly is awesome – blew me right away, just the amount of bikes, the variety and the way they were all displayed.

The track is undulating with several blind approaches and a great combination of fast and double apex corners, the surface is grippy if not bumpy in places. I had a great time, and hopefully will be able to rustle up some budget to go back there and race, a) if I get an invite and b) if someone wants me to ride their machine.
